It's spring in the northern hemisphere, and fishing has started in the salt as well as the fresh, and even though I do hear a few reports of ice not quite gone and fingers freezing in sleet and rain, I also see pictures of sun over water and nice fish landed. It'll only get warmer during the spring in the northern part of the world.

For you people south of equator: we all hope you enjoyed the season, and had a fishing year as exciting as the one Argentinean Pedro Miles had, as you can read in his account of his 2022 season. Talk about action!

Apart from that I invented a fly … and then again maybe not as you can read. And there's more flies from people more inventive than me, like Nick Thomas whose patterns are always novel and different. Another one is in the pipeline, and I'm sure more will come.

For those dreaming of Iceland, there's a long article on the way, dealing with planning a salmon trip to the North Atlantic island. Written by Danish Nils Folmer Jorgensen whose knowledge of and experience with Icelandic salmon is hard to surpass.

Also, I had though about doing an April's Fool this year, but never got around to it. I've been doing these a few times, but this year spring was suddenly here, and I totally forgot my plans. I had a couple of ideas, but they will have to be saved for some other year. April 1st comes back with regular intervals, I've heard, so there are more chances.
